Sovereign-backed Murgitroyd completes two more acquisitions
Sovereign Capital Partners, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, is delighted to announce that portfolio company Murgitroyd, a leading European provider of IP services, has acquired Turnbull Lynch Intellectual Property Limited (TLIP). This closely follows Murgitroyd's recent acquisition of Creation IP, a specialist European patent and trademark attorney practice.
TLIP is a UK-based patent-focused IP firm founded by two attorneys in 2014. It has offices in Leeds and Cambridge where it services mainly corporate clients in strategic, high-growth sectors including technology, electronics and more recently biotechnology.
Founded in 2012, Creation IP is a Glasgow-based boutique firm of specialist European patent and trademark attorneys providing services to predominantly start-up and SME clients across the UK, Europe and the US.
These latest deals will help Murgitroyd expand its IP services capabilities as well as broaden its client base, expanding its UK footprint and further establishing the Group as the largest IP practice in the country. Murgitroyd’s first two acquisitions since Sovereign’s investment, Hanna Moore + Curley and UDL Intellectual Property, were completed in 2021.
