Sovereign Capital announces two new Partners

Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, is pleased to announce the promotions of Neil Cox and Jeremy Morgan to the Sovereign partnership. Neil and Jeremy will work alongside Managing Partner Andrew Hayden and fellow Partners Michael Needley, Dominic Dalli, David Myers, Matthew Owen and Kevin Whittle.

Neil has over 14 years’ experience in private equity, banking and corporate finance. Since joining Sovereign in 2007, Neil has focused primarily on the Business Support Services sector and has led a number of platform investments including Cordium, a leading financial services regulatory compliance consultancy – and its subsequent seven bolt-on acquisitions – which returned in excess of 4x to Sovereign’s investors; and Kindertons, an outsourced accident management service provider, and its immediate acquisition of Plantec. He also led Sovereign’s investment in Willows, a leading specialist veterinary referral centres for companion animals. Neil joined Sovereign following six years with Rothschild in both corporate finance and as a founder member of Rothschild Mezzanine. Prior to joining Rothschild he worked in the chemical industry for nine years.

Jeremy joined Sovereign in 2013 having previously been Co-Head of Barclays Ventures which he helped establish in 1996. Jeremy has considerable transactional and portfolio management experience across a wide range of sectors. He is primarily focused on Sovereign’s Business Support Services sector activities where he led the simultaneous investments in SJD Accountancy and Nixon Williams in a transaction worth £100m and most recently worked on the bolt-on acquisition of SM&MS, a health & safety and environment services provider by portfolio company Alcumus. Prior to joining Barclays, Jeremy worked in industry with Pirelli Telecommunications.
