Sovereign Capital announces four promotions

Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, is pleased to announce the promotions of four of its team: Rob King and Sunil Jain, investment team, have been made Investment Directors and Peter Shaw, Investment Manager; Ed Goddard, Research & Direct Origination team, has been promoted to the role of Investment Manager.

Rob joined Sovereign in 2011 and focuses on the business support services and healthcare sectors. He has worked in developing a number of businesses, including: bolt-on acquisitions and roll-outs for Tracscare Group; the Kindertons platform investment and subsequent bolt-on of Plantec. He was also involved with the successful exits of DC Leisure, Lindley and most recently Tracscare Group. Rob currently sits on the boards of a number of the portfolio companies including Kindertons. Prior to joining Sovereign, Rob spent four years in the Investment Banking division of Rothschild.

Sunil joined the team in 2011 and works across the firm’s areas of sector focus but with a particular emphasis on education and healthcare. He has been involved in a number of deals and with portfolio companies including Choice Care Group and LM Funerals. Sunil is also on the boards of GSM London and Christchurch Group. Prior to Sovereign, Sunil was with Blenheim Chalcot, the investment group.

Ed joined Sovereign’s Research & Direct Origination team in 2009. He works within the Healthcare Services team and has been involved in a number of transactions including bolt-on acquisitions for City & County Healthcare Group, National Fostering Agency, Tracscare Group, Eden Futures and Partnerships in Children’s Services. Prior to joining Sovereign, Ed worked in the private equity teams at both Redgrave Partners and Egon Zehnder.

Peter joined Sovereign Capital’s investment team in 2013 and is focused on the healthcare and business support services sectors. He has been involved with a number of transactions including the bolt-on acquisitions of Hedgestart, Sigma and Zodiac for Cordium, ISP for Partnerships in Children’s Services, and Hunters Moor for Christchurch Group. Previously, he spent three years at Dar Capital.
