Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, is pleased to announce the appointments of Trevor Stokes as Investment Manager and Oliver Hedley-Whyte as Investment Executive.

Trevor joins Sovereign from the financial advisory firm Global Leisure Partners, where he was a Vice President focused on originating and executing a range of M&A, corporate strategy and capital raising transactions, including Betfred’s acquisition of the Tote and CVC’s acquisition of Virgin Active. Previously, Trevor spent five years at KPMG Corporate Finance, working in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Debt Advisory teams. Trevor holds an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.

Prior to Sovereign, Oliver worked at August Equity where he was involved in the origination and execution of deals within the Business Services, Healthcare and Technology sectors. Previously, he was a member of the Financial Sponsors Group at HSBC, where he advised private equity clients across a range of sectors on M&A, ECM and Leveraged Finance transactions. Oliver holds an MSc in Finance and Investment and a first class BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Trevor and Oliver will work across Sovereign’s three investment sectors – business support services, healthcare and education and training – on both platform investments and Buy & Build opportunities. Recently, Sovereign completed the simultaneous investments in SJD Accountancy and Nixon Williams in a transaction worth £100m, which created the largest group providing accounting services to the Contractor and SME markets in the UK.

Andrew Hayden, Managing Partner, Sovereign Capital Partners, said: "We’re delighted to be expanding Sovereign’s investment team in response to strong deal flow. Both Trevor and Oliver bring valuable experience to Sovereign and will further strengthen the team."
