Affinia to combine with three UHY Hacker Young offices to create Top 25 UK accounting firm

Affinia, the UK’s fastest-growing fully integrated accounting and advisory firm, backed by Sovereign Capital Partners, is to combine with the Brighton, London and Nottingham offices of UHY Hacker Young, subject to all regulatory and other approval processes completing.

The move will create a £100m revenue, 1,000‑person firm with 17 offices. Operating as UHY Affinia, it will become a member of the UHY Hacker Young Group, positioning it as a Top 25 UK accountancy provider. Together with the remaining 10 independent member firms in the network, the UHY Hacker Young Group will have combined revenues exceeding £150m. Through membership of UHY International, global revenues will exceed US$1 billion across over 360 offices in 95 countries worldwide. Subarna Banerjee, currently Managing Partner of UHY Hacker Young LLP, will join the Group Board of Affinia.

This is Affinia’s largest transaction to date and marks another major step in the accelerating consolidation of the UK accounting sector. Sovereign invested in Affinia’s founding firm, LB Group, in May 2023 and has since partnered with the management team to deliver an extensive Buy & Build strategy to create a differentiated challenger in the accounting, tax and business advisory market. These three new acquisitions bring the total number of additions since Sovereign invested in LB Group to 14.
