Nurseplus

Investment Background

Nurseplus was set up in 2005 to supply agency care workers and nurses to nursing homes, residential care homes and private hospitals, alongside providing care in the home. By 2014, the business had 35 branches.

In 2014 Sovereign backed the Nurseplus founding management team to grow the business organically by rolling out new branches in existing locations and in complementary regions of the UK.

The Story So Far

There continues to be opportunities to roll out the Nurseplus offering further in the UK. When scaling up, ensuring that client service delivery is consistent and constant is key and this has required investment in technology, senior staff, infrastructure and processes. In addition a centralised support hub has been established to support the larger network of branches in aspects such as candidate screening, validation and on-boarding. Sovereign has been fully supportive of providing the mid-term funding necessary to allow the business to continue to scale and develop new services.

Today Nurseplus has over 50 branches is one of only two scaled providers in its market.

Sovereign continues to work with the management team to expand the business further to meet the increasing demand for its services.
