Andrew will continue to chair Sovereign’s investment committee whilst Dominic will continue to lead transactions alongside driving the strategic direction of the firm. Dominic will also manage operations with the support of his fellow partners.

Andrew co-founded Sovereign in 2001 when the then small team operated from its office in Buckingham Gate. Under Andrew’s leadership the business has grown to become one of the most successful and active houses in the lower mid-market. Today Sovereign has partnered over 50 businesses to deliver over 250 follow-on Buy & Build transactions, has a 38-strong team, and market-leading funds delivering an average of 3.0x money on investments to date.

Dominic joined Sovereign in 2002 with a strong background of expertise in Healthcare and was promoted to Partner in 2008. Since then he has led Healthcare and Pharma deals in businesses such as Xendo, Outcomes First Group and City & County Healthcare, as well as Sovereign’s investments in the Business & Technology Services sector including Cordium and Alcumus.

Andrew Hayden, Chairman commented: “The key determinant of any business is its people; talented management teams are what truly shape a company. As a business we have always worked hard to build fantastic relationships with first class management teams as well as their outstanding business to ensure that both organic and acquisitive growth is supported. I am very proud of the firm we have built over the last 20 years and of the businesses and people we have had the privilege to partner. Dominic has contributed significantly to the firm over this time both as an investor with a successful track record and as a strategic thinker and, like me, our team thoroughly enjoy working with him. Our Buy & Build model has proven to be highly successful; it takes hard work and determination to achieve this. We have a talented and tenacious team which will continue to develop and thrive under Dominic’s leadership.”

Dominic Dalli, Managing Partner said: “I am very proud to be leading Sovereign into the next decade. We will continue to do what we do best, working with management to deploy Buy & Build in the service-based sectors of Business & Technology, Healthcare & Pharma and Education & Training; sectors where we have depth and breadth of expertise and where we believe there is real opportunity for strategic growth. There is no doubt that 2020 has put many firms through their paces and continues to do so. We are very proud and fortunate to have seen our portfolio perform strongly throughout this time and to have completed a new platform as well as follow-on investments. I look forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength as we look to the future.”
