Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, is pleased to have supported The Centre for Social Justice ("CSJ") Awards 2009.  The prestigious awards ceremony, held in London last night, highlighted the outstanding commitment made by community organisations throughout the UK to overcome the root causes of social breakdown.

Over 300 voluntary groups and charities applied for this year's awards programme that celebrates and rewards the extraordinary work done to tackle poverty in Britain.

Sovereign was delighted to sponsor the award that was presented to Working Rite, the Edinburgh-based social enterprise that specialises in work-based, mentoring projects.  Working Rite was recognised for the success of their training scheme that enables 75% of young adults engaged in their projects to secure gainful employment and apprenticeships, with an associated reduction in antisocial behaviour.

The CSJ awards, now in their fifth year, recognised the remarkable work achieved by so many grassroots organisations around the country whose dedication genuinely makes a difference to people's lives.
