Sovereign Capital sponsors The Centre for Social Justice Awards 2007

Sovereign Capital ("Sovereign"), a leading UK private equity buy and build specialist, is proud to be a sponsor of The Centre for Social Justice ("CSJ") Awards 2007. The Awards, held in London on 11 July, recognise and reward grassroots organisations carrying out exceptional work to tackle poverty and social injustice in the UK.

The Awards ceremony was a memorable occasion. The work of these groups was celebrated in front of an invited guest list of senior figures from business, politics and the voluntary sector. Six poverty-fighting groups were rewarded on the night, with each receiving £5,000 to further their work. Sovereign Capital's Managing Partner, Ryan Robson, presented a cheque to Civitas Supplementary Schools, who are working to rescue the educational potential of disadvantaged children in hard-pressed schools. Each of the successful groups also won the opportunity to have a short film made about them and received an invitation to join CSJ Poverty Fighter's Alliance. As a result they will be able to have ongoing, reciprocal relationships with key policy makers in Westminster.

Sovereign has an active record of supporting a range of charitable activities and backing organisations that are at the forefront of assisting the UK's most vulnerable. In addition to the CSJ Award sponsorship, Sovereign is once again proud to be involved with The Social Mobility Foundation's programme of summer work placements for adolescents from deprived areas. This is currently enabling a bright 17 year old student from East London to gain valuable experience at Sovereign's London office, offering a unique opportunity that should help to open doors for him in the future.
