Sovereign Capital continues to expand investment team

Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity buy-and-build specialist, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its investment team with the appointment of George Williams as Investment Manager. This brings Sovereign's investment professionals to 18.

Prior to joining Sovereign, George worked for eight years at KPMG, most recently spending four years in their Corporate Finance Private Equity Advisory Team advising clients in the support services and financial services sectors.

George was part of the team that advised Sovereign on its investment in CMGL in September 2005 and this resulted in him being seconded to Sovereign in January 2006. Since then, George has helped complete several Sovereign transactions, including the IBO of National Fostering Agency, the second largest fostering agency in the UK.

Sovereign Capital has had a very strong start to 2007 with the recent completion of three new platform investments, London Property Maintenance, DC Group and National Fostering Agency.  This takes the total amount invested and committed by Sovereign over the past 12 months to more than £100m.
