Sovereign Capital makes two investment team hires

Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, today announces the appointments of Sunil Jain and Nick Miller as Investment Managers. These hires further strengthen the investment team following the appointments of Manish Miglani and Rob King earlier this year.

Prior to joining Sovereign, Sunil was an Investment Manager at Blenheim Chalcot, the investment group, where he predominantly focused on education, technology and financial services.  Previously Sunil spent five years at Oliver Wyman Financial Services, where he specialised in financial services strategy, working predominantly with insurance and private equity companies.  Sunil holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Nick was previously an Investment Associate at Babcock and Brown and prior to this he worked in the Investment Banking division of ABN AMRO, where he provided strategic M & A and valuation advice across several industries. Nick holds an MBA from London Business School with distinction and degrees in Engineering and Commerce from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Both Nick and Sunil will focus on focus on executing Sovereign’s proven Buy & Build growth strategy, which has seen 24 transactions completed over the past year.  Recent investments include the bolt-ons of Springbank Community Care to domiciliary care provider City & County Healthcare Group and Drury PSM to risk management, compliance and certification service provider Alcumus Group. In November Sovereign was named ‘Investor of the Year’ at the 2011 Education Investor awards; this is the second year running that Sovereign has received the accolade.

Commenting on their appointment, Andrew Hayden, Managing Partner, said:   “We’re very pleased to welcome Sunil and Nick to our experienced investment team, where they will work both on sourcing new investments and developing our existing portfolio companies.  Our strong deal flow has continued in 2011 and, with a robust pipeline in place, we anticipate this carrying forward into 2012.”
