National Fostering Agency

NFA provides care for over 1,700 children from regional offices throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

NFA focuses on the care of looked after children, paying particular attention to the outcomes amongst children within its care and safeguards the appropriate matching between carers and children.  Additionally, NFA ensures that its procedures significantly exceed the minimum standards.

NFA acquired The Foster Care Agency in March 2008, followed by another 3 bolt-on acquisitions at the beginning of 2009, including Alliance Trust Fostering and Alpha Plus Fostering.  These acquisitions have bought over 255 additional placements across 145 local authorities in the North West, South and South East of England.

Since Sovereign's involvement, the number of employees has increased from 120 to over 200 people in 13 regional offices and placement numbers have grown by 58% from 1,071 at the time of Sovereign's original investment.

Sovereign is in active discussion with a number of additional potential bolt-on acquisitions to further build the group's scale and increase its geographic reach.
