Alpha Plus operated 17 schools, colleges and nurseries in at exit in December 2007. Together Sovereign and management built up one of the UK's most prestigious private education providers, building on the reputation of each individual school.

Alpha Plus schools include some of the most well-regarded names in the country including The Wetherby Preparatory School and Pembridge Hall in London and the Cliff School in Wakefield.

Over the period of investment, Sovereign and management increased pupil numbers by 44% to 2,800 and expanded pupil capacity by 1,100 places to meet parent demand. As well as opening new schools, including a Special Educational Needs school at Abingdon House, Sovereign supported the acquisitions of Cliff & Silverwood Schools and Minors Nursery in 2004 and Davenport Lodge in 2007.
