World Class Learning Group

With Sovereign’s support, and strong demand for places, student numbers have more than doubled, International College Spain has been acquired, new greenfield sites have been established, and almost £20 million has been invested in the buildings and infrastructure to ensure the best

possible learning environment for pupils.  The centrepiece of WCL’s learning products, International Primary Curriculum is now used in over 1,500 schools across 80 countries – an increase from 400 schools in 44 countries at the time of Sovereign’s investment.

  • In March 2013, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Patron of World Class Learning Schools, inaugurated Compass International Doha Schools.
  • WCL’s curriculum expertise has been recognised by UNICEF which has awarded the Group a contract to support the reform and development of the curriculum in Azerbaijan.
  • The Group operates in a rapidly growing market which is expected to double within the next 10 years to 6 million students learning in British style schools around the world. (Source: ISC Research October 2012) This increased appetite for a rigorous British education system reflects both the growing middle classes in emerging economies as well the internationalisation of tertiary education where global competition for university places demands the highest academic standards.

“With Sovereign’s support, substantial investment in facilities and belief in the value of a first class education, WCL has risen to become a leading international schools’ group.”
