Alpha Plus
Alpha Plus is one of the UK's most prestigious private education providers. Its schools include some of the most well-regarded names in the country, such as The Wetherby Preparatory School and Pembridge Hall in London and the Cliff School in Wakefield.
Over the period of investment, Sovereign and management increased pupil numbers by 44% to 2,800 and expanded pupil capacity by 1,100 places to meet parent demand. Alpha Plus operated 17 schools, colleges and nurseries at exit in 2007.
As well as opening new schools, including a Special Educational Needs school at Abingdon House, Sovereign supported the acquisitions of Cliff & Silverwood Schools, Minors and Davenport Lodge.
